What is middle school 101? 

​

• A four-day coaching experience where middle schoolers will gain the tools, strategies, and attitudes that will empower them to have an amazing first year at middle school​

​

• Middle School 101 is led by real former middle school teachers who are compassionate and knowledgeable about the unique and amazing qualities of middle school students

We’ve developed this program specifically with the needs of new middle schoolers in mind.

​

• The transition from elementary school to middle school is a big one -- suddenly students go from 1 or 2 teachers to 7 different teachers, often with different teaching styles and rules

​

• In middle school, "unstated" homework becomes more prominent; how are students supposed to know what to study and how to study?

​

• In the midst of all this academic newness, middle schoolers are also contending with massive brain growth, intense emotions, changing friendships -- and lockers!

 

You know that at Empower we are big believers in empowerment, peace, and thoughtfulness, so we’ve thoughtfully curated a program that brings peace to what can be a stressful transition.

We don’t want our students to feel overwhelmed in their first year of middle school.

 

 Instead, we’ve created a nurturing environment this summer to empower them in entering their middle school doors for the first time -- with CONFIDENCE.

​This is for rising middle schoolers who:

• Want a safe environment to ask questions from real middle school teachers​

​

• Want to enter middle school with a toolkit for success that they can refer to again and again
